The best way to see all the natural beauty that we have in Victoria is to escape out of the city and stay right in the midst of it. I’ve devised a small list of Unique Nature stays in Victoria – from glampervans and safari tents to luxurious houses perfect for a group getaway, there’s something here for everyone.
Here are my top picks for nature stays in Victoria (that I’ve personally been to of course):

Roam Merrijig, Merrijig (3 hours from Melbourne)
It’s not everyday you get to stay in luxurious accommodation with nature on your doorstep and Roam Merrijig is just that and so much more!
When I say the views here were incredible, I really do mean it! You can enjoy wildlife spotting from your very own private deck (look out for kangaroos, deer & eagles), sip on a glass of wine at sunset or get cosy by the wood-fire and watch the fog roll into the valley.
There were so many thoughtful touches to the house that made you feel pampered, relaxed and cosy with options to dive into a good book, look out onto panoramic views from every room (even the laundry!) or curl up on the couch and watch Netflix.
This beautiful double story home is 5 minutes from the Mt Buller entry gates and sleeps 10 with a full kitchen, indoor woodfire and views that you can’t take your eyes off (especially at sunset from the deck).

Blue Ridge Estate (4.5 hours from Melbourne)
A luxury couples farmstay. Blue Ridge Estate absolutely blew me away!
My partner and I were one of the first people to stay in this beautiful place and I can confirm the surrounding rolling green hills captured my heart from the minute I arrived.
The location was secluded in such a beautiful setting, I found myself sitting on the balcony mesmerised by the views whilst I enjoyed a bottle of local wine and a cheese platter with ingredients provided by the host!
You’ll need to walk up a spiral staircase to the bedroom loft but downstairs you’ll find a full kitchen, cosy gas log fireplace and huge bath, there was even a chandelier in the bathroom.. I felt so fancy.
Outside you’ll find a firepit and armchairs that you can relax in whilst you watch sunset and on your drive up to the house from the road you might also see several cows that you might have to wait for (on my visit in Spring there were also some cute calves).

Hilltop at Bright, Bright (3.5 hours from Melbourne)
Picture this, you’re a 5 minute drive from the centre of Bright but feel like you’re miles away in your own little mountaintop oasis. You’ve stepped outside and started roasting marshmallows by the fire as kangaroos graze metres away from you.
You head back inside to curl up on the couch in front of the fireplace and look out the window at the trees. You’re relaxed, comfortable and can’t wait to spend the next few days surrounded by the forest.
This place is Hilltop at Bright, a double story home that sleeps 14 people and has 5 bedrooms (4 queen beds, 2 bunk beds and 2 trundles). I’m not lying when I say this is the perfect luxury getaway for families, a large group of friends or a couple wanting their own space (I mean this place is seriously huge)!
I loved the outdoor pergola with a living area and outdoor kitchen. There was also a swing and a firepit (marshmallows provided of course) and bonus kangaroos that graze at the back of the property.

Berrys Creek Farmstay, Gippsland (2 hours from Melbourne)
If you’re looking for a cosy getaway with your family or friends then Berrys Creek Farmstay is definitely a place you can’t miss in regional Victoria. I stayed here with my partner and 4 of our friends and it was just what we needed to lift our spirits and beat the winter blues.
You can expect incredible views over rolling hills, a gas pizza oven, a fire pit that will keep you warm for hours, cows, chooks and two friendly dogs Buster & Rip that will come and say hi – the perfect place for animal lovers. Also, don’t miss the tree swing out the back which we only found after exploring around the house!
This place sleeps up to 7 people and you’ll feel right at home from the moment you step under those twinkling lights by the fire or when you receive the delicious homemade and local produce the lovely owners leave for you at the start of your stay (wholesome vibes were everywhere here)!

Cleveland Winery, Lancefield (1 hour from Melbourne)
If you’re looking for a quick getaway from the city with good food and incredible scenery without even having to leave the property, Cleveland Winery in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges is definitely a good choice!
We had a 3 course dinner, fully cooked breakfast and wood-fire pizzas for lunch at the on-site bar and restaurant and we even got a glass of bubbles and a cheese platter on arrival. If you want to treat yourself while you stay here, you most definitely can!
This is also a wedding venue so you can expect to find spots for photos all over the property. The grounds of the winery are beautiful, with a lake, a couple swings, old heritage buildings, underground cellar door and of course the iconic vineyards that you look out on whilst you dine in luxury.
This place is perfect for couples but you could book multiple rooms for large groups!

Metung Hot Springs, Metung (4 hours from Melbourne)
My stay at Metung Hot Springs was one of the most relaxing and Unique Nature stays I’ve ever been to in Victoria and my jaw was on the floor when I realised I could sit in a hot barrel of geothermal bathing water and look out at views of the lagoon from my very own glamping tent!
They offer hillside and lagoon premium safari-style glamping tents, each with their own toilet, shower, mini fridge, sink, huge bed, air conditioning, heating and two private bathing barrels on the deck (this was honestly the best)!
A gourmet breakfast was delivered straight to my glamping tent in the morning and the option to enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner at Metung Country Club before or after you bathe close by.
While you get to stay in a beautiful place, you also get full access to The Bathing Ridge while you’re there, offering multiple pools of varying depths and temperatures, along with a sauna, geothermal showers and cold plunge!
And my favourite, the hot bathing barrels (38 – 40 degrees) at the The Hilltop Escarpment overlooking Lake King (make sure you stay for sunset up here)!
